Folk Museum/Former Residential House of the Wadas
Cultural Heritage
The Wada House was built in 1855 as the residence of the Wada family, who served as village officials of Hagisono Village during the Edo period. After the house was used for five generations, it was donated to Chigasaki City, dismantled in 1982, designated as an important cultural property by the city in July of the same year, relocated and restored, and opened as a folk museum in April of 1985.
