Cultural Heritage
This is the site of the moated settlements developed only in the "Miyanodai style" era (around the 1st century BCE) in the latter half of the middle Yayoi period, and is one of the largest in the newly expanded stage in the southern Kanto region. The excavated artifacts include stone and iron tools as well as earthenware, and it shows how the transition from stone to iron tools took place. It is positioned as one of the central settlements in the southern Kanto region, and is crucial to understanding the aspects of society in the middle Yayoi period.
