Cultural Heritage
The fifth-generation head of the Yamaoka family, who were lords of Hamanogo Village during the Edo period, had it built as a memorial for his younger brother who died prematurely, and it bears an inscription dated Genroku 7 (1694). It was exempted from the contribution during World War II, and is currently the oldest temple bell in the city.
