Chigasaki-kan is a long-established ryokan that was established in 1897 on a hill overlooking the Shonan Coast, and is known as the regular lodging used by the movie director Ozu Yasujiro. The hall building (built around 1926) has a 30-tatami mat-sized hall with a lightly designed set of decorative features including alcoves and built-in shelves. A mezzanine building was built around 1923 on the southwest side, a row house building (built around 1926, moved in 1933) is on the southeast side, and a bathing house (around 1926) with sukiya-style features is located at the back of the hall building.
