Built in 1935, it is a two-story wooden building on the north side of the site, and the west side has a structure with an air of openness centering around a Western-style room with wooden plank flooring, while the east side has a Japanese-style design with a Japanese-style room with an alcove and gently sloping eaves. A ventilation opening is provided between the Western-style room and the Japanese-style room by using a difference in level, showing the ingenuity of the ventilation system. The Old Himuro House's main building was donated to the city along with the garden of Himuro Shoji, former vice president of Mitsui Fudosan, and his wife Hanako, and the exterior of the building is open to the public as part of the Chigasaki City Himuro Camellia Garden.
